Off the Runway: Christian Siriano's Spring/Summer 2013 line

We all remember Christian Siriano as the Fierce Project Runway winner, but what you may not know is that Christian already has 7 full collections under his belt. Christian was born on November 8, 1985 in Annapolis, Baltimore. He attended the Baltimore school for the Arts and studied fashion in London, where he interned with fashion icons such as Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. Christian moved to NYC after London where he became the youngest winner of Project Runway. *

Oprah calls his designs “A wok of Art,” and Tim Gunn calls him a “Prodigy,” and “the next great American fashion designer.” The young designer debuted his spring 2013 collection during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week on September 8, 2012. According to InStyle Magazine, Christian’s spring line came to him from an American ballet performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The runway was filled with ballet buns, floaty fabrics, structured peplums, ethereal dresses in shiny pearls, and floor sweeping gowns. He used crystal studs to cover the satin shoes and instead if high heels dressed his models feel in shiny metallic Oxfords. A mint colored abstract print was used throughout the entire collection.
