Manic Monday

My Husband and I at the Derby Charity Event in Boston
Monday is upon us and I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and fun filled Cinco de Derby.   This weekend was filled with lots of exciting things. We had a blast on Saturday at a local charity event; although our horses didn't win we came out winners.  The money went to a good cause and the Mint Juleps were delicious.   Sunday, we cleaned, went to the market, and took a walk up to our favorite spot which happens to be across the street, Thomas Park.  It really brings so much joy to hear the kids laughing and playing with their dogs and or siblings, friends, and family.  It is such a great way to end a weekend and the weather turned out to be beautiful yesterday afternoon.

Every Monday morning the same song runs through my head as I get ready for work in the morning.
"It's just another Manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'cause that’s my funday
My I don't have to run day
It's just another Manic Monday."

On Monday, when it seems so hard to get your engine started and you need to be on top of things, you may be thinking to yourself what can you do to wake up?
Here are few suggestions that you can use to help you feel more energized and refreshed, not only on this manic Monday, but every day.
1) Drink at least 4 glasses of water daily: Don't worry about the 8 a day rule just drink enough to stay hydrated.
2) Exfoliate (scrub) your skin:  This will remove toxins and dead skin, and leave your skin glowing for days.
3) Get a massage:  Just remember to drink plenty of water afterwards
4) Give a Massage: Physical contact with another through touch can be healthy and restorative.
5) Take a nap: It's a stress reducer, mind refresher, and it's good for your heart.
6) Stretch: To prevent or relieve soreness or injuries.  It is relaxing and can help you relieve stress if you practice deep breathing along with it.
7) Eat something spicy today: This will rev your metabolism and get your body energized and fired up as well.
8) Eat plenty of fruits and veggies: Your body will thank you.  Instead of reaching for that candy bar in the afternoon when you’re tired and need a pick me up.  Reach for that apple instead it will keep you feeling full and satisfied without the sugar crash later.
9) Exercise:  This one is easy, just move.  90 minutes of aerobic activity a week is all you need. (Tune in Wednesday when I will be providing an easy and fast workout you can do at home when you have a break and need a quick recharge.
Last, but not least
10) Smile: This will make you feel happier and all those around you.  I challenge you to give one to ever person you meet today.
Happy Monday and I hope you all have a wonderful week!
